KidzTube – Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect limited data to operate and improve KidzTube:

Parent’s email via Firebase Authentication (for secure login)
Allowed channels, starred videos, and parental settings via Firebase Firestore
Public YouTube video/channel metadata via YouTube Data API

We do not collect or share personal information from children.

2. How We Use Information

Provide and sync parental controls and settings
Display family-safe YouTube content
Maintain app functionality and security

We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal data.

3. How We Process and Share Information

KidzTube uses collected information only to provide core app functionality:

Parent accounts are created using email through Firebase Authentication.
Parental settings (approved channels, blocklists, preferences) are stored in Firestore.
Public YouTube metadata (titles, thumbnails, durations) is displayed using the YouTube Data API.

We do not share personal information with any external parties other than Google services that support authentication and storage:

Google Firebase Authentication
Google Firestore Database

No other third parties receive user data, and no data is sold or monetized.

4. Cookies, Local Storage, and Device Access

KidzTube may store limited information on your device, including:

Local caching of YouTube metadata (video IDs, titles, thumbnails)
Local storage of parental settings for faster performance

This information is stored only to reduce network requests and improve the user experience. KidzTube does not track users across other apps or websites, and we do not use cookies for advertising or analytics.

5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

KidzTube is intended for use by parents to manage what their children watch. Children under 13 do not create accounts or provide data directly. All parental features are PIN-protected.

6. Data Security

All data transfers are encrypted using HTTPS. We rely on Google Firebase and Firestore, both protected by Google’s infrastructure.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain data while the parent’s account remains active. Parents may delete their account and data by emailing kidztubeplus@gmail.com or using the in-app delete feature.
